Caffeine-O satu boss....

1) Read an article from ForbesLife entitled "Cheatsheet: The Dark Side of Caffeine".

2) I don't drink coffee. Caffeine isn't my problem. Well, coffee isn't the only source of caffeine. How about the drink you always drink so to make you not sleepy and look cool? What's the name again? Redbull? Mother? Liftplus? Ring any bells? Well that kind of drink contains more than 400mg of caffeine. Much more than coffee which contains roughly 100mg of caffeine per cup. Haha..now you realise how unrealistic you are being, Rosalinda.

3) Caffeine is often found in beans, leaves and fruits of some plants. It acts as a natural pesticide for them, paralyzing and killing insects that try to feed on them. Having said that however, on humans it is a stimulant on the central nervous system and has psychotropic effects. In other words, heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration is increased.

4) Caffeine is rather addictive. Well, that explains why I sometimes become rather addictive to Redbull. Oh, and other people towards coffee. :-) The more you have, the higher your tolerance levels and the more you need. Take it away and you will feel: Drowsiness, inability to concentrate, irritability, depression, anxiety, flu-like symptoms, motor skills impairment and more. Aaaaaaahh..no wonder.

5) Carry on caffeine-ing? Over-caffeine-ing can result to muscle-twitching, insomnia, headaches and heart palpitations. How much is much? Even a slight overdose of 300mg can give you "caffeine-jitters" and all sorts of painful side-effects. PS: You can die from an overdose of caffeine ie: coffee. It's true. Go see the article if you don't believe me!

6) So? Take low doses or seldom drink it. Water is good. It's also cheaper. Studies show that you are more likely to scream at your wife, not hand in work in time to your boss or forget the lies to your big presentation. Well, well. We don't want that to happen aye. Oh, and do not allow someone who is carrying a baby ie pregnant get anywhere close to the 'thing'. Certainly, not good for the baby. :-D

7) From now on, I, Rosalinda Ayamor, will not drink overdose caffeine. No more Redbulls. Well, how bout once a month? NO!!! Not anymore. Moving forwards to a healthy lifestyle. Word ~ :-)
